William Faulkner (September 25, 1897 - July 6, 1962) was a Nobel and Pulitzer prize winning American author. He was born and raised in Mississippi. Faulkner won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1949. He is most famous for writing The Sound and the Fury, (published in 1929), As I Lay Dying, (1930) and Absalom, Absalom! (1936). Because of his fascination with the America and the south, Faulkner is often considered a conservative.
