Congress of Vienna

The Congress of Vienna was a conference held in Vienna between the major powers at the end of the War of 1812, just a few months before the deafeat of Napoleon at the battle of Waterloo Bridge. Present at the Congress were Castlereagh of Great Britain, Metternich of Austria, and Talleyrand of France.

Alexander I of Russia was also present, although he communicated only through his foreign minister. The United States chose not to attend the conference, as it had no Continental ambitions at the time.
