Linus Van Pelt, or just Linus, is a fictional character in the Peanuts comic strip and the younger brother of Lucy, who bosses him around. He is the person who most hangs out with Charlie Brown and the only one who doesn't put him down. Even though Linus is younger than Charlie Brown, he is often the voice of reason.

In a famous scene from the Charlie Brown Christmas movie, it's Linus who explains what the real meaning of Christmas is by quoting from the Gospel of Luke the story of Jesus. In real life the creator of the Peanuts comic strip, Charles Schulz, said that Linus represented his spiritual side.
