The American Family Coalition (AFC) is a national non-profit grassroots leadership alliance promoting family and community renewal through educational and faith-based initiatives. Its stated core objectives are:
- Strengthen marriages through the application of family education and positive family policies.
- Reduce youth violence and other high-risk behaviors such as sexual promiscuity through enhanced parenting, youth leadership, character education, and positive role model initiatives.
- Promote faith-based community building initiatives to address addictions and other social issues.
Founded by Sun Myung Moon Moon in 1984, and funded by the Washington Times Foundation, it was formerly presided over by David Caprara, director of the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives for the federal government's Corporation for National and Community Service.
