Aaron Jermaine Ross is a National Football League cornerback for the New York Giants. He was born on September 15, 1982 in San Antonio, Texas. Ross is 6'1" tall and weighs 192 pounds.
College Football
A solid player and playmaker at cornerback while at the University of Texas (UT), Ross saw action at defense back starting in 2003 when he played in all 13 of the Longhorns (UT football team) games as a backup. Ross remained a backup cornerback for Texas in 2004 and 2005 but still played in every game. Finally, in 2006 he was assumed the starting job and was a candidate and finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award (given each year to college footballs best defensive back). In Ross's total career with Texas he played in 51 games (15 starts) and made 205 tackles (145 solo), forced 3 fumbles, recovered 2 fumbles (one returning for a touchdown), had 33 defensed passes, one sack and intercepted 10 passes. Also was a dangerous punt returner, Ross returned a total of 3 punts for touchdowns in his Texas career.
NFL Career
Aaron Ross was drafted by the New York Giants in the first round (20th overall pick) of the 2007 NFL Draft. On July 27, 2007 Ross signed a five year, 13 million dollar contract with the Giants[1].
