Out of sight out of mind is a fallacy of thought. It occurs when in the case that direct evidence is not always in sight, a person does not believe that a certain action is happening. For example, many liberals tout solar energy as extremely clean, but do not realize that the manufacture of the panels creates many toxic chemicals that are placed in the environment. Since they do not see this, they assume that solar panels are perfect.
Another liberal example is terrorism: during 9/11, many liberals supported George W. Bush because terrorists had recently attacked. However, as the terrorist attacks on America stopped, they began to resent Bush and his actions to defend their safety and freedom.
