Karl Schroeder is a science fiction / fantasy writer whose novel Pirate Sun examines the origins debate from an uncanny perspective. In the future after humans are extinct, the robots have conquered the universe. Robot scientists are proponents of intelligent design, that is, intelligent design by humans. Other robots, who follow a religion, claim that they were all evolved atheistically.
