Portion control is a an approach to combating weight gain and obesity. Portion control consists of eating smaller portions, or less of regular portions. This approach recognizes that the satisfaction of a favorite food after a meal does not require eating large quantities of it. Unlike most diet plans, portion control does not require avoiding favorite foods.
