The USS Kitty Hawk is an aircraft carrier put into service by the United States Navy in 1961. It was the first of three superior aircraft carriers commissioned by the Navy, and built by the New York Ship Building Corporation. It has performed 150 missions ranging from the Vietnam War to Operation Desert Storm. It is a vital part of the United States Navy showing its mighty power and versatility.
Kitty Hawk is currently the only non-nuclear aircraft carrier still in commission, but is due to be decommissioned in 2008. It is stationed at Yokosuka, Japan.
