A combination of these is how pretty much every religion gets their start. Where would Christianity be without intimidating people (threat of hell), denying Pagan religions, "saving" (killing) the souls of people who wouldn't convert, etc. Mikek 10:46, 20 November 2008 (EST)

Promotion of suicide

I think this should be removed again, but since the editor who added it has requested this be discussed first, & I have sometimes made similar requests to this myself, I will honour that.

The cited news item does not state or even imply that atheists promote suicide. It shows a father attributing his son's suicide to distress caused by atheist literature & his loss of faith. This is not equivalent to a promotion of suicide. I also agree with JessaT's point (in the edit summary) about not using these kinds of tragedy for political capital.
