A poem is a usually short written piece belonging to the literature of poetry. Generally speaking, a poem is text with an uneven right margin. There are many different sorts of poems – from formal sonnets to haikus to experimental free verse.
Here is a sample sonnet, based on William Shakespear's sonnet #18.
Shall I compare thee to Wikipedia? Thou art more lovely and less biased: Rough vandals do attack thy darling site, And liberal's accounts hath all too short a block: Sometime too slow the act of reverts shines, And often is CP's gold complexion dimm'd; But every atheist debate always declines, By reason or logic's faithful course untrimm'd; And conservatism's eternal summer shall not fade Nor lose ground to those atheists and liberals; Nor shall Darwin brag thou wander'st in his shade, When in eternal lines to time it growest: So long as men can breathe or eyes can see, So long lives Conservapedia and this gives life to thee.
