The Kurds are an ethnic group living in a region which extends from the Taurus mountains, to the Zagros Mountains in Turkey, Iran, and Iraq. [1] Most Kurds strongly desire a homeland, and their nationalism has led to them being persecuted, especially in Turkey, which is home to more Kurds than any other nation. The majority of Kurds are Muslims. Other religions practised by the Kurds include Yasdanism, Christianity and Judaism.
