The Wars of the Roses are a series of conflicts in which noble families battled for the throne of England. The wars began as the supporters of the house of Lancaster usurped [[Richard III]] and placed the young [[Henry VI]] on the throne in 1455. The battles continued until 1480 when [[Henry VII]] united the two houses.
