National Personifications were popular anthropomorphic depictions of nations, mostly during the World Wars and the American Civil War.
These include:
- Canada: Johnny Canuck
- Confederate States of America: Johnny Reb
- France: Marianne
- United Kingdom: Britannia
- England: John Bull, King Arthur
- Northern Ireland: Erin, Kathleen Ni Houlihan, Hibernia
- Scotland: Jock Tamson, Sawney
- Wales: Owain Glyndŵr
