The Flying Spaghetti Monster is a parody religion that began as a critique of the Kansas Board of Education's decision to allow the teaching of intelligent design in public schools. Richard Dawkins uses the flying spaghetti monster in his book The God Delusion, attacking belief in God. Others purport a belief in the Flying Spaghetti Monster and Pastafarianism as a thinly-veiled attempt to mock Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.
