Has no one else realized the glaring contradiction in that Jesus said he would be in the grave for three days when he actually rose within two?

I don't believe there are any contradictions in the Bible, so we should try to make sense of this. Matthew 12:40 says, "As Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." So we know he was dead 72 hours. He rose from the grave on Sunday morning, John 20:1: "The first ''day'' of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken awyay from the sepulchre." 72 hours before sunday morning is thursday morning.
