::::The answer to your question TrondE is twofold: First, there is no evidence of the beliefs of the scientists who wrote the paper in regards to the age of the Milky Way, therefore it is an assumption. Second even if we knew what beliefs they hold, it is irrelevant to the section and article at hand. I mean, at that point, why not mention the belief of every other person I mention in the article?
