The Separate Accrual Rule is a court doctrine for applying a statute of limitations, whereby each time a plaintiff discovers or should have discovered an injury a new cause of action arises regardless of how long ago the wrongful act occurred.
Several Courts of Appeals (2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th and 11th) currently apply the Separate Accrual Rule to actions brougher under RICO.
