Maurice Kowan, MD, (born 1899) was a Chicago doctor and Communist, who acted as a mail drop for William Crane and John Loomis Sherman while engaged in espionage activity on behalf of the Soviet Union. Dr. Kowan was also one of the first doctors to use Laetrile in the control of cancer - he was fined $3,000.00 and, at the age of 70, sentenced to two months in prison.
