In my opinion, Fred Phelps is far-right. Far-rights main characteristic is corporate nationalism. Their nationalism is their sick and twisted view of Christianity which they expect everyone to follow that promotes hate to gay people and America only because it tolerates homosexuals. They are very principled and very organized (which are traits of a far-right organization) and you cannot be part of their organization unless you hate gay people (in other words they are exclusive). You saw how if one of the families disowned their daughter because she was questioning the WBC. If they were a Leftist or Far-Left organization they would be looking to promote egalitarianism for their group's identity rather than promote hate and bigotry (which are far-right traits).

:He's a racist bigot. That would make him a leftist, wouldn't it? He's unamerican, hates America, hates the military, an all around hate-monger. He sure is not Christian, in any meaningful sense. Probably hates God & Christ, if not a Satanist or closet athiest. He loves to carry on pointless protests for no other reason than to anger people and get publicity. This is all the hallmark of a liberal. Oh, did I mention he ran for office as a Democrat, supports Democrats for office, and probably votes DCemocratic.
