David Hobson, born October 7, 1936 (age 89), is a Republican U.S. Representative from the Seventh Congressional District of Ohio. He was elected to the One Hundred Second Congress in 1991 and has been elected to the eight succeeding Congresses. Although he has differed on some key issues, such as on the federal marriage amendment[1], Hobson has voted with his Republican colleagues nearly eight-six percent of the time during the current Congress. [2] The Christian Coalition, a conservative pro-family group, gave him a seventy-six percent positive rating.[3]
During his over sixteen year tenure in the United States House of Representatives, Hobson served as chairman of the House Appropriations Energy and Water Development Subcommittee as well as a senior member on both the Veterans Affairs, Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, Housing and Urban Development and Independent Agencies (VA-HUD) Appropriations Subcommittee.[4]
In October 2007, Hobson announced that he would not seek another term in the U.S. House of Representatives after his current term expires in 2008.[5]
