Michael Alan Weiner, Ph.D. (born March 31, 1942) (aka Michael Savage) is a conservative talk show host. [1]
His nationally-syndicated radio show is called "Savage Nation". He is affectionately known as "Dr. Savage" because he holds a Ph.D. in economics (compare Dr. Laura).
He is famous for making extremely controversial, inflammatory statements. In one broadcast, denouncing "slave reparations," he claimed that he had been paying "reparations" to African-Americans for decades, since he had put up with the increased crime that they caused (in his mind).
After the 2005 Indian Ocean Tsunami, Savage commented "I wouldn't call it a tragedy" since he considered some of the affected nations hotbeds of radical Islam.[2]
