Blue state refers to states in the USA where a majority votes for Democrats in Presidential elections. They generally have liberal views on taxation, regulation of business, human rights, homosexual rights, abortion, and crime, are known for their dependence on federal aid and are not considered part of the real America. Though considering the majority of people live in blue states, it could be argued that the "real America" is not really the true America.
They are generally located in the northeast and on the west coast of the United States.
