The Ford Taurus is an American sedan produced by the Ford Motor Company. It was first produced in the 1980s as a replacement for older styled sedans. It featured modern styling and competed well with imports, being the best-selling new car for a few years in the 1990s.
As part of the plan to have all car names start with F, Ford replaced the Taurus with the Five Hundred briefly in 2007. The last model was purchased by American Hero Truett Cathy, owner of Chick-fil-A. But due to popular demand Ford brought it back later that year.
SHO
The SHO (Super High Output) was a high performance model of the Taurus. It featured a high-output V6 engine (actually built by the Yamaha motorcycle company, but with American engineering help). For its time it was very competitive and could actually beat many imports at a lower price.
