Chick-fil-A on Customer Appreciation Day August 1st, 2012

Chick-fil-A is a privately held and family-owned fast-food franchise with over 1500 locations nationwide. Established in 1946 by Truett Cathy, he opened his first restaurant, The Dwarf Grill, in Hapeville, Georgia. Chick-fil-A has performed strongly despite being targeted by left-wing activists,[1] and it became rated Americans' favorite fast-food restaurant in 2019.[2] However, in 2019, it surrendered to far-left activists by ending its donations to conservative Christian organizations,[3] and it donated to the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center and other leftist organizations.[4]

Restaurants can be stand-alone locations, mall-based (including in food courts), drive-thru only as well as college campuses, hospitals, and airport "Lunch Counters". They operate themed restaurants known by the names Dwarf House and Truett's Grill. They included the full Chick-fil-A menu.

Their brand campaign since 1995 has been a cow (symbolizing hamburgers) with a sign that reads "Eat Mor Chikin".

They professed to be a Christian business and are best known, even in the secular world, for their decision to not open their stores (whether company-owned or franchised) on the Lord's day, Sunday. This applies even to their location inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons (who usually play on Sundays, nor did they open during the 2019 Super Bowl).

Charity

Truett and Jeannette Cathy created the WinShape Foundation over 20 years ago which currently operates 11 foster care homes in Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama. In addition, college scholarships totaling more than $26 million, camping, marriage counseling and more. Chick-fil-A franchises often contribute to local charities, school sports and activities, and non-profit organizations.

Targeting by homosexual activists

Chick-fil-A is frequently the target of a boycott by liberals who dislike Christian organizations, including those that support the traditional definition of marriage. The activists made a mountain-out-of-a-molehill regarding a Massachusetts anti-same-sex "marriage" group getting catering from Chick-fil-A. This has upset social misfits dearly and homosexuals began organizing to boycott as a result.

In July 2012, Chick-fil-A Chief Operations Officer Dan Cathy expressed his personal Christian opinion to a Baptist newspaper saying "guilty as charged" for the defense of traditional marriage. An avalanche of liberal outrage ensued and the so-called tolerant No-H8 crowd demanded future Chick-fil-A restaurants be banned in Chicago, Boston, and San Francisco. The Jim Henson Company canceled its contract to manufacture Muppets merchandise with Chick-fil-A. Liberals took to the internet to slander the chain as "bigots" and "haters".

Led by Mike Huckabee and the American Family Association, conservatives rallied and began a Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day on August 1, 2012, where more than 630,000 people signed up to support the event on Facebook and Chick-fil-A locations around the country were packed with patrons who came to support Cathy's stand on traditional marriage and send a message to the forces of liberalism and political correctness. Pro-homosexual liberals held a childish "kiss-in" protest on August 3 at various Chick-fil-A restaurants as a protest of traditional marriage, which largely bombed as it drew barely any protesters. On the same day, one location in Torrance, California was targeted with graffiti by pro-homosexual vandals.

Bending the knee to Antifa and Black Lives Matter

In June 2020, the formerly conservative Chick-fil-A was listed as one of numerous companies that have gone "woke" and now support the criminal rioters of Antifa and Black Lives Matter in the wake of the 2020 leftist riots.[5]
