Hertz

Hertz, abbreviated Hz, is the SI unit of frequency named for Heinrich Hertz, a German scientist of the late 19th century. A hertz is equivalent to a cycle per second; as such, the unit can be expressed in terms of the second as 1/s or s⁻¹.
