Rain Man is a movie about an abrasive selfish yuppie named Charles Babbit and his idiot savant brother Raymond. In the movie, Charles discovers that his rich father died and left his fortune to an autistic brother that he never knew he had. His brother does not understand the concept of money, and this makes Charles angry.
Raymond was based on a real person, Kim Peek. However, the movie does not give a very accurate portrayal of autism, because Kim Peek is not autistic. He is very disabled and also very brilliant but he is not autistic. He is mentally retarded because he suffers from absence of the corpus callosum in his brain and from macrocephaly.
