Palestinian Arabs

"Palestinian" Arabs refers to those Arabs who migrated into "Palestine" (former and present-day Israel) beginning in the late 19th century, and who had no cultural nor national distinctive traits separating them from Syrians, Lebanese, and Jordanians. The term "Palestinian" itself had referred to Israeli Jews until the 1940s, but in subsequent years has been deconstructed and redefined to refer to the Arabs in the disputed territories of the West Bank (also known as Judea and Samarra, as referred to by Prime Minister Menachem Begin in his West Bank policy) and Gaza.
