Omaha is the largest city in Nebraska, located in the far eastern portion of the state. It is the home of investor Warren Buffett, Union Pacific (one of six Class I railroads), and Creighton University, and was the birthplace of actor Marlon Brando and President Gerald Ford. It was ranked by Forbes.com as the eighth most conservative large city in the U.S.[1] Its mayor is Jean Stothert.[2]
Omaha lies along the Missouri River and along with Council Bluffs in Iowa makes up the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area.
"Omaha Beach" was the code name for part of the D-Day invasion in 1944.
