Pesach [Hebrew:פס×], often called Passover,[1] is the Jewish holiday celebrating the biblical escape from Egypt.
The festival begins on the 14th of Nissan. In Israel there is one day festival [××], five intermediate days [××× ××××¢×] and the 7th day is also a holiday. In the diaspora, there are two day of festival, four intermediate days and another two days of festival.
Laws and Customs
- For the entire length of the festival, Jews refrain from eating leavened foods (×××¥).
