Although some linguists, have proposed that language is learnt, and has little inherent basis, this would seem to be inconsistent with  accepted truths, specifically the [[Tower of Babel]]. The tower of Babel incident clearly shows that language has basis in a person at a level far greater than what can be learnt, as [[The Lord]] made it so the people instinctively spoke different languages, and only through great effort can they understand each other's.

Natural Language Processing, or NLP is a branch of cognitive science, relating strongly to artificial intelligence. It deals with the attempts to create algorithms which can make sense of, to a lesser or greater degree, ordinary human language, as well as work by researchers to gain a greater depth of understanding into the true nature of language.[1]
