A nerve gas, or nerve agent is a poison which attacks the nervous system and causes lack of coordination, mental confusion, unconsciousness, muscular paralysis, and stoppage of breathing. Among the more well known nerve agents are Sarin and VX. The United Nations has classified nerve agents as weapons of mass destruction.
