Sex and gender are not equal terms. Sex refers to the anantomical features, gender refers to more to the "social construction" of a person. ColinRtalk 02:39, 21 March 2007 (EDT)

Sex vs. gender
I'm tired of seeing the word "gender" used as a euphemism for sex. The male sex and the female sex can be mentioned aloud and in print. So I suggest we put sex back where it belongs.
Another thing, is that "gender" can refer to social roles in a way that "sex" cannot. You are born male or female, and you can't do anything about that. So-called "sex change" operations don't really turn men into women or vice versa. It's tantamount to cross dressing or female impersonation.
