Several Declarations of independence have been made in history, although the most notable one of course is the U.S. Declaration of Independence made on July 4, 1776 (see also Fourth of July). Southern Rhodesia declared herself a nation independent of British rule by Unilateral Declaration of Independence (UDI) on November 11, 1965 (see Zimbabwe).
