40 Days For Life is a pro-life campaign that draws attention to the evil of abortion, per their three-point program: Prayer and Fasting, constant vigil, and community outreach. A biblically focused campaign, a vision to access God’s power and bring together the body of Christ in a spirit of unity to turn hearts and minds from a culture of death to a culture of life, thus bringing an end to abortion in America.
The movement was founded by David Bereit in 2004 in Bryan/College Station, Texas (after Planned Parenthood opened an abortion facility in the area), the 40 Days for Life campaigns have proven very fruitful. Some of the blessings the group associates with the campaign (statistics are as of the end of the 2017 campaign and are based on information known to the organization):
- 14,643 lives that have been spared from abortion
- 177 abortion workers have quit their jobs and walked away from the abortion industry (including, notably, former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson)
