The Romance languages (the largest branch of the Indo-European languages family) are languages that descended from Vulgar Latin, a collection of dialects of Latin, spoken throughout the Roman Empire. The Romance Languages are spoken in western Europe, the Americas, and many other parts of the world. These languages include Portuguese, Galician, Spanish, Catalan, Occitan, French, Italian, Lombard, Sardinian, Sicilian, and Romanian. Many other languages exist.
