Wichita State University is a public research university located in Wichita Kansas. It was founded in 1895 as Fairmont College, a private college. The city of Wichita bought the school in 1926, and it later was incorporated into the Kansas State system.
In 2020, Ivanka Trump was invited to give a virtual graduation address to WSU's technical program. However, under political pressure, President Jay Golden revoked the invitation. In turn, the Board of Regents accepted Golden's resignation.[3]
