Thomas Dale DeLay (born 1947) is an American Republican politician. He served in the House of Representatives from 1984 to 2006, representing Texas. He was the House Majority Leader from 2003 to 2005. DeLay stepped down from the post of Majority Leader and from Congress due to indictment corruption charges for allegedly receiving illegal funds from convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
