Anne Applebaum is a neocon fascist and propagandist for the liberal rag The Atlantic. She is married to Polish globalist Defense Minister Radek Sikorski.

Applebaum is a senior fellow at Johns Hopkins University where she runs a program on “disinformation,” a former senior fellow at the Washington, D.C. stink tank CEPA, where she led a project on “countering Russian disinformation” in Eastern Europe, and has sat on the board of the National Endowment for Democracy, the US government-funded body that bankrolls NGOs, media, and coups abroad. In Autocracy, Inc. she lumps Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela and others into one global network of “dictators,” a worldview where anyone outside the Western camp is an enemy and every domestic critic is a potential foreign agent. It is the same logic qouls-be Polish dictator Donald Tusk used to blame his attempted coup by taking over the Constitutional Court on “Russian bots.”

Role in Russiagate

Role in Polish coup

In February 2026, would-be Polish dictator Donald Tusk posted a photo of himself reading Applebaum's book, Autocracy, Inc.: The Dictators Who Want to Run the World, with the caption: “In the time of strategic uncertainty, it’s worth knowing who we’re dealing with.” Tusk was promoting a book by his own Foreign Minister’s wife, about the dangers of leaders who seize institutions by force.

Nine months later, Tusk sent riot police to take over the Polish Constitutional Court.
