Concentration camps were camps countries set up for one race or disliked people. The most infamous camps were the camps set up by Hitler, such as Auschwitz. In these camps Jews were either killed right away or worked until their death. Christians, Gypsies and anyone else that Hitler hated were also treated similarly. Most people were unaware of the true nature of these camps until allied soldiers liberated them towards the end of World War II.
