Portion control is a conservative approach to combating weight gain and obesity. Unlike most diet plans, portion control does not require avoiding favorite foods.
Portion control consists of eating less of smaller portions. This approach recognizes that the satisfaction of a favorite food after a meal does not require eating large quantities of it.
Portion control includes leaving some fattening food on the plate in restaurants, leaving some fattening food in the refrigerator at home, and leaving some in the grocery store when shopping.
