The character Golliwog is the main character in verses written by Bertha Upton in the 1890's. The books were charmingly illustrated by her talented daughter Florence. Mother and daughter worked together on a total of 12 books, all featuring the cheerful character and his adventures travelling around the world. Golliwog was always accompanied by his friends, the Dutch Dolls.
