William Michael Albert Broad, better known by his stage name Billy Idol, is an English rock musician.
Idol began his career in 1976 with the punk band Generation X, then later moved on to a successful solo career beginning in 1981. After a break of several years he launched a comeback tour in 2005, with the release of a new album and a series of tour dates including Rock am Ring.
