:When Russia intervened in Feb 2022, I went online with ordinary Russian people and others from around the world and apologized for what America had done, and told them how ashamed I was of my country for its actions and behavior. And they said, "Don't worry, no problem. We understand. We've been through the same thing ourselves a few times." ::Americans don't live in hard times. Even people on welfare, have cable TV and air conditioning in many cases. When you compare America's prosperity with many nations and with the history of mankind, we live in an age of comfort. And Americans have a wealth of information to educate themselves via public libraries. The famous author and salesperson/businessman [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Og_Mandino Og Mandino] literally transformed himself from being a drunk and a depressed bum to a life of prosperity via materials he read in a public library. ::Ive been watching [https://youtu.be/VB8NDI0oVBQ this film that was posted on YouTube a few days ago]. It was made in 1989 - two years before the demise of the Soviet Union - when nobody involved in making the film knew the Soviet Union would cease to exist in 2 years. It stars the American actor Powers Booth, then at the peak of his career, as the hero of [[Stalingrad]]. So in this piece of communist agitprop, you can see the respect for Americans and hope for the future the Russian people had in the final days of the Soviet Union. Can you imagine Tom Cruise or Harrison Ford today being invited to play the lead role of a great Russian hero in a Russian film today? after all the lies and betrayal of trust by our government over the past 30 years?
