The French and Indian Wars refer to a series of four wars fought between Britain and France between 1689–1763 over the North American colonies. The French were few in number so they formed alliances with Indian tribes, and led raids to burn American villages, kill the men, and kidnap the women and children.[1]

These wars were King William's War, Queen Anne's War, King George's War (part of the War of Austrian Succession), and the French and Indian War (part of the Seven Years' War).[1]
