Jon Tester (born August 21, 1956) is a junior Democratic United States Senator from Montana. From 2001 to 2003, Tester held the position of minority leader in the Montana Senate.[1] In 2005, his colleagues selected as President of the Montana Senate. He elected to the United States Senate by garnering the support of forty-nine percent of Montana voters in the 2006 election.[2] He was narrowly re-elected in 2012, despite Barack Obama losing Montana on the same night.
While claiming to support the Second Amendment, Tester has consistently voted against President Donald Trump's pro-Second Amendment judicial nominees while consistently voting for Obama's pro-gun control nominees.[3]
