The character of Lilith represents an attempt to reconcile the creation story of Genesis 1:1-2:3 with the second creation story in Genesis 2:4-25. By this logic, Lilith was the woman created in Genesis 1:27-28: "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them.
