==Controversy==
Critics questions the bias of Gregory reporting. They site his questions and attitude of seemingly disrespect towards the president and administration, and his liberal slant he places on his reports. At one press conference Gregory asked Bush, “ why [do] you believe you’re still a credible messenger on the war?” , Bush responded by saying he reads intelligence and went on to say that, “terrorist are a threat to your children, David, and whoever is in that Oval Office better understand it and take measures necessary to protect the American people.”
At one point Gregory interrupted the president in a press conference to ask if was going to change his administration cabinet. Bush joked that he was, “not going to hire you[David], if that's what you were suggesting,”. The joke came after Bush had hired former Fox reporter Tony Snow. Gregory responded by saying, “I was not suggesting that.” Bush ended the conversation by stating, "I would, except you can't pass the background check. Okay, an unnecessary cheap shot, I take it back."
