News suggestions
Now that we have several members of this project, I'm open to suggestions for news articles here. --DeanStalk 09:33, 12 August 2008 (EDT)
- I suggest we try to link news items whenever possible, as I did with the Walmart stampede and the "trampling of truth" items today.
- Also, let's not add "background" information to news capsules unless it's documented or linked. $78/hour was not in the auto union's external link. On the other hand I don't want to deleted that factoid permanently. Maybe one of our reporters or fact checkers can do a short article on union wages in the auto industry. If average US salaries are around $40,000 and the average worker puts in a 40-hour week, that's $20 an hour. Who makes more, or less, than that? And why? There are issues of productivity (the laborer is worth his wages Matt. 10:10 ) and excess union pressure (they use monopoly power against the corporations and by extension its customers). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ed Poor (talk) 07:18, November 30, 2008
- Ed, we do try and link to the news articles. As for the $73 per hour, Jp made the news suggestion and I didn't notice that was isn't the article. Good catch.
- Feel free to edit the news articles as you did this time. I have been wanting another sysop to work with me on the news. Welcome to the news project. --DeanStalk 10:16, 30 November 2008 (EST)
