Notable advocates of gay pride are such individuals as Harvey Bernard, Andy Warhol and Elton John have brought homosexuality to the world stage.

Ancient texts "ranging from dialogues of Plato, such as the Symposium, to plays by Aristophanes, and Greek artwork and vases."[1] are regarded as early indications of homosexuality being celebrated.
